Guide To Crufts: What is Crufts & What Happens There

Crufts is back. Four days, over 18,000 dogs and more wagging tails than you could count if you tried.

If you’ve never been, think of it as the ultimate celebration of dogs. If you have, you’ll know it’s part competition, part shopping spree and part falling in love every five minutes.

Crufts 2026 takes place from 5–8 March 2026 at the NEC Birmingham. We’re back as an official sponsor and ready for four brilliant days of dogs.

If you’re planning your visit, you’ll find us in Hall 3, Stand 3-112. Make a note of it before you arrive.

What happens at Crufts?

At its heart, Crufts is a competition. Thousands of dogs take to the ring, all hoping to win the coveted Best in Show title. But there’s much more to it than that.

You can watch agility, flyball and freestyle heelwork to music – which is exactly as joyful as it sounds. There’s the Good Citizen Dog Scheme Training Ring, where you can pick up practical training advice, and the Dog Activities Ring, where you might discover a new hobby for your own furry friend.

And then there’s Discover Dogs – one of the most popular areas at the show. With over 200 breeds to meet, it’s the perfect place to learn about different temperaments, sizes and personalities. Whether you’re thinking about a future puppy or just love dogs in all shapes and sizes, you’ll tell yourself you’re just having a quick look. You won’t be.

Crufts isn’t just about the competitions. With more than 500 trade stands, it’s also one of the biggest dog-focused shopping events of the year. From grooming tools and treats to toys, accessories and exclusive show offers, there’s a lot to explore.

Planning your Crufts visit

Crufts takes place across five halls at the NEC in Birmingham, so it’s worth having a rough idea of what you’d like to see before you arrive. The weekend is always busier, especially with Best in Show on Sunday, but there’s plenty happening across all four days.

Our advice? Leave time to wander. Some of the best moments happen when you stumble across a breed you’ve never met before or pause to watch an agility run that makes you smile.
